Ryan Tobin serves as the Director of Real Estate Development for the Housing Authority of the City and County of Denver (DHA). Under his guidance the Department is responsible for all aspects of the real estate development process including land acquisition, master planning, securing financing, partnership negotiations, and oversight of the design and construction process. The mission of the Development Department is to construct model, sustainable developments that provide exceptional affordable rental and market rate for-sale housing, and economic opportunities in a mixed-income, mixed-use setting that transforms communities.
Since 2005 Ryan has served as DHA’s Senior Development Manager, where he managed complex multi-million dollar redevelopment and rehabilitation projects including, the award-winning South Lowell family development recognized as a “Project-Within-A-Project” by the Associated Builders and Contractors, preservation and sustainable housing renovation through innovative renewal energy and environmental design concepts. Ryan has proven experience in management of large scale community revitalization efforts including Benedict Park Place, final phases of award winning Mariposa District, and planning for the future Sun Valley community transformation.
Ryan is a graduate of the University of Nebraska, where he obtained his Juris Doctor (JD) and MBA focusing on strategic management while training as an Olympic hopeful in the sport of wrestling with the Nebraska Cornhuskers. His current affiliations include the Urban Land Institute (ULI), the American Bar Association (ABA) and the Colorado Bar Association. He is also a member of the ABA’s Forum on Affordable Housing and Community Development.
