Health Insurance
Group hospital and medical insurance is offered through Kaiser Permanente. Coverage is effective the first of the month following 30 calendar days of full time regular employment. Dependent children are eligible for coverage up to age 19 or to age 24 for full-time students.
Because families have different medical needs, Denver Housing Authority offers a choice of three plans within the Kaiser Permanente system. Kaiser Permanente Plan 620A Deductible/Coinsurance, Kaiser Permanente Plan 215 HMO and Kaiser Permanente Added Choice Triple Option. The plans are similar in benefits, but differ in premium cost, deductible, out-of-pocket expenses, and range of choice of physicians and hospitals.
Dental/Vision plan
Dental care plan is offered through Assurant Employee Benefits. The Pinnacle Plan is under-written by United Dental Care of Colorado and includes many services that are provided at 100% coverage. There are reduced rates on other comprehensive dental services, too. Choice of dentist must be made from a list of participating dentists. Premium is paid 100% by employee. Effective Date is the first of the month following 60 days after enrollment.
A vision discount plan is included with the dental care plan through Vision Service Plan (VSP).
125 Plan
Cafeteria plan or 125 Plan is offered through Denver Reserve Corporation. This plan allows you to set aside part of your salary to pay for health and dependent care expenses with pretax dollars and to pay for employee’s portion of health and dental premiums pre-tax.
