1) How do I apply for a position with DHA?
DHA accepts resumes and/or applications on an ongoing basis. You may fax to 720-932-3005, email to Personnel@denverhousing.org or mail to 1035 Osage St., Denver, Colorado 80204. You may also apply in person at the777 Grant Street building on the 2nd Floor. Always specify the position for which you are applying.
2) I see you have a Notice of Intent to Promote or Hire. May I apply for this position?
The Notice of Intent to Promote or Hire is an internal posting of a position. You may apply for the position, however, first consideration for the position will be given to regular employees of DHA. If no regular employee is found to fill the position then DHA will consider all outside applications and/or resumes including contract and special program employees.
3) What kinds of positions are available at DHA?
DHA has a variety of salaried positions from entry-level clerical and maintenance jobs to managerial, professional and administrative positions. DHA also has hourly paid positions to assist in the implementation of grants. Some hourly paid and contract positions require residency in DHA owned properties.
4) How long after I submit my application and/or resume will I hear from you?
Verification of receipt of application/resume will be sent via email (unless you come in person or do not have a valid email address). Selection may be made anywhere from a few days to 2 months.
5) Where can I find open positions with DHA?
DHA does not have a job line. Open positions are posted on its internet site and posted on the bulletin board at 1035 Osage St. 9nd floor. DHA does advertise on Indeed and other electronic job boards.
6) Tell me more about pre-employment screening.
An offer of employment is contingent on the verification of credentials and other information including the successful completion of a background check. A background check will include at least a criminal background check and additional types of background checks may be required and/or permitted depending on the type of position and nature of the duties performed. These additional background checks may include: Employment History Verifications, Education/Degree Verification, Motor Vehicle Record (MVR), Professional License and Certifications.
The existence of a conviction does not automatically disqualify an applicant from employment.

7) Selection/Recruitment Process
The Personnel Services department is responsible for providing qualified candidates for hiring consideration. This involves recruiting applicants, developing examinations, administering and scoring examinations, and referring eligible candidates for further assessment.
All applications are reviewed to the position's required and/or preferred qualifications. Applicants who do not qualify are notified by email. Applicants who do qualify may proceed to the next phase of the assessment process which may include: a written, computer or performance-based examination. Applicants who pass the assessment(s) may then be interviewed.
