Denver Housing Authority offers five Opportunity Centers across the City and County of Denver at the following locations:

North Lincoln Homes – 1401 Mariposa St
Westridge Homes – 3550 W 13th Avenue
Westwood Homes – 865 South Irving
Sun Valley Homes – 990 W Alcott
Platte Valley Homes – 3050 Champa St

DHA’s Opportunity Centers provide economic self-sufficiency and homeownership opportunities to public housing residents of the Denver Housing Authority. These services are offered through two main tracts:

The Employment Tract offers three subcomponents:

Basic and advanced education
• Computer education
• Job readiness and employment preparedness

In this tract Resource Advisors provide referrals and resources to clients so they can:

• Increase education levels.
• Increase job skills through computer training.
• Increase job preparedness through resume writing, interview practice, job search, etc.
• Increase their salary.

The Homeownership Tract offers three subcomponents:

Financial fitness education
• Homeownership education
• Home purchase opportunities

In this tract Resource Advisors:

• Provide education to assist clients reduce their debt, increase their credit score, increase their income, and increase their savings.
• Provide financial and homeownership education.
• Provide financial incentives to assist with the purchase of a home when the time is right.

Assessment & Intake Process

As interested clients come into any of the Opportunity Centers, staff will be able to assess them to determine which programming they are eligible for based on their current education, income, and employment status. Based on staff’s assessment and the client’s interests, clients are put on a program plan to enhance their economic self-sufficiency and/or begin their homeownership education and training.
