On January 29, the the US Office of Management and Budget, on behalf of President Trump, rescinded the memo that instructed all federal departments to temporarily pause all activities related to the obligation and disbursement of federal financial assistance.
Yesterday, the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) issued memorandum M-25-13, which directs federal agencies to temporarily pause the disbursement of federal financial assistance.
This morning, the OMB confirmed that this directive does not impact programs providing direct benefits to individuals, including rental assistance programs. While this clarification is reassuring, the full scope of the directiveโs impacts is still being assessed.
We are actively monitoring developments and engaging with our federal and state partners to better understand the implications of this memorandum.
