Assistant Manager Osage Café and Mercado


The Housing Authority of the City and County of Denver (DHA) seeks an experienced and highly motivated assistant manager for our Osage Café and Mercado located in the Mariposa District neighborhood. It is part of our Resident and Community Connections department. This department is dedicated to improving the lives of low income families and individuals living in public housing, HCV/Section 8 program and across Denver. It provides vital programs and services that help residents enhance their skill-sets to achieve economic self-sufficiency.

The Position
Under the direction of the Osage Café General Manager, the Assistant Manager will be responsible in supporting day-to- day management and operations of the Mercado. The position handles issues with customers and vendors directly, and then escalates them to the general manager if necessary. The Assistant Manager is required to manage market in absence of the manager. The Osage Café and Mercado employs underserved young adults and trains them in skills to help them succeed.

∗ Sick leave is accrued at 6 hours per month.
∗ Vacation leave for new employees is accrued at 8 hours per month.

Minimum Qualifications at the Time of Application
∗ High School diploma or GED with some college; bachelor’s degree preferred.
∗ Experience working with culturally diverse populations.
∗ Two (2) years of experience in grocery store operations, service, quality, and products.
∗ Ability to track costs, budget, and inventory.
∗ Knowledge of store management.
∗ Valid Colorado driver license and good driving record must be maintained in accordance with
personnel policy.
∗ A combination of appropriate education and experience may be substituted for the minimum
education requirements.

Salary Range
$38,109.59/year to $47,636.36/year
