The Housing Authority of the City and County of Denver (DHA) is looking for a skilled maintenance technician with a professional license to join our Maintenance Team.
The Position
Under minimal supervision, responsible for performing skilled tasks in a variety of trade areas for the purpose of keeping the Housing Authority of the City and County of Denver (“DHA”) facilities and units in a decent, safe, and sanitary condition. Performs tasks associated with all construction trades including carpentry, electrical, plumbing and HVAC. Performs weekly/monthly life safety systems inspection and testing as required to ensure buildings are in compliance with City and County fire codes. Oversees and assists annual fire system testing and inspections, coordinates life safety inspections with Residential Property Managers and outside contractors. This position requires a majority of the work day coordinating work with local fire department, annual Fire Prevention Bureau inspections and scheduling work with third party sub-contractors. The hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday. Must join and maintain membership in AFSCME Local 535.

Minimum Qualifications at the Time of Application
∗ High School diploma or GED.
∗ Five (5) years minimum experience in the building maintenance trades to include life safety, carpentry, painting, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, gas or building maintenance.
∗ Maintains a building industry license or certificate or gas service certificate or higher as provided through the City and County of Denver.
∗ A valid Colorado driver license and a good driving record that must be maintained in accordance with personnel policy.
Starting Salary Range
$54,823.82 to $68,523.37/annual ($26.36 to $32.94/hour)
