The Housing Authority of the City and County of Denver (DHA) is looking for a highly skilled locksmith to join our Housing Management team.

The Position
Provides Journeyman Locksmith services which require independent application of the principles and practices of installing, maintaining, and repairing, replacing, modifying, and opening all types of locks and locking mechanisms. Compliant with current federal and state regulations. Coordinates and schedules work to ensure timely completion and quality standards. Must join and maintain membership in AFSCME Local 535. Work hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Overtime is offered for after-hours emergencies.

Minimum Qualifications at the Time of Application

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Five (5) years’ directly related work experience in locksmithing is required.
  • A combination of appropriate education and experience may be substituted for the minimum education and experience requirements at the sole discretion of DHA.
  • Knowledge of locksmithing sufficient to diagnose, maintain, rebuild, and overhaul all mechanical parts of locks.
  • Knowledge of FALCON locks.
  • Knowledge and skill in the use of locksmith tools and equipment sufficient to cut and issue keys, re-key, install, and repair locks and maintain a variety of locks and door hardware.
  • Skilled in the use of hand and power tools common to the trade.
  • Ability to plan, implement and maintain a system for maximum security of units and facilities.
  • Ability to administer a detailed lock coding and computerized file system.
  • Valid Colorado driver license. Maintain driving record in accordance with the personnel policy.

Salary Range

$4,872.51/month ($28.11/hour)
