Make a difference in young lives by donating to the Youth Employment Academy

DENVER – Tuesday, November 28, 2023 – Denver Housing Authority (DHA) announced today that there is still one week to help make a difference in the lives of young individuals served by DHA’s Youth Employment Academy (YEA,) a program that works to educate, employ and empower some of Denver’s most vulnerable youth. Donations can be made to YEA through Colorado Gives Day December 5, 2023, and all proceeds directly support the program to help make a significant impact in the lives of young adults.

“YEA’s core revolves around forging meaningful connections with youth, while offering high-quality, transformative experiences, imparting essential job skills, industry knowledge, and encouraging personal growth. By choosing to support YEA, you are contributing to a brighter future, empowering youths to thrive,” said Annie Hancock, DHA director of resident and community connections.

YEA offers innovative programs that equip young people with skills and knowledge needed to excel in life. The program guides more than 200 youth from marginalized and undeserved communities annually, helping them achieve their educational, employment, and mental health goals. YEA oversees Arts Street, the Osage Café and Mercado, and Decatur Fresh, all unique social enterprises and programs that support youth education and combat food insecurity in Denver.
