Manager of Construction

The Housing Authority of the City and County of Denver (DHA) is looking for a motivated self-starter to manage and coordinate new and on-going construction projects.

The Position
This position develops, manages and coordinates oversight of new and ongoing multi-family construction projects from initial concept through delivery as an owner representative that can make timely and economical decisions to ensure successful delivery of projects under the direction of the Chief Real Estate Investment Officer. It provides technical and jurisdictional support on medium size projects ranging up to approximately $75,000,000.

∗ Sick leave is accrued at 6 hours per month.
∗ Annual leave (vacation) for new employees is accrued at 8 hours per month.
∗ 12 paid holidays per year with an optional paid day off.
∗ Health insurance and 125 Plan.
∗ Group life insurance, pension plan (equal to 10% of the annual salary), short term and long term disability insurance are paid by DHA.
∗ Dental plan, vision insurance, critical illness insurance, accident insurance, 457 pension plan and the ROTH IRA are employee paid options.
∗ Performance based merit increases and cost of living adjustments are given depending upon current policy.

Minimum Qualifications at the Time of Application
∗ Four (4) year degree in construction management, construction science, construction engineering,
business, urban planning or related field.
∗ Experience in real estate and construction.
∗ Demonstrated experience with and understanding of contracts, plans and specifications, construction methods, materials and regulations, and housing development.
∗ Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively in a fast-paced, high stress environment.
∗ Proficiency with computers and software programs for project scheduling as well as Microsoft Office Suite.
∗ Knowledge of local government (or learning aptitude) as it relates to housing development.
∗ Valid Colorado driver license and a good driving record in accordance with DHA Personnel Policy. Willing to pursue additional licenses and/or certifications as required by job responsibilities.
∗ A combination of appropriate education and experience may be substituted for the minimum education and experience requirements.


Starting Salary
$88,671.35 – $110,838.88/year
