Melanie Lewis Dickerson Appointed to Board of Commissioners

DENVER – Monday, May 13, 2024 – The Board of Commissioners of the Housing Authority of the City and County of Denver (DHA) announced today that Melanie Lewis Dickerson has been appointed to the Board by Denver City Council.

“Melanie joining our Board brings a wave of excitement,” expressed Charles Gilford III, Chair of DHA’s Board of Commissioners. “With over a decade dedicated to tackling affordable housing and homelessness challenges, she’s a valuable addition. Her expertise will greatly enhance our mission as we strive towards innovative solutions and collaborative approaches.”

As the Director for Community Solutions, Melanie works directly with communities and partners to build and improve systems to end homelessness using data, quality improvement, and problem-solving tools from multiple sectors. Prior to joining Community Solutions in 2014, Melanie spent six years with the City and County of Denver where she served as the Partnerships Manager for Denver’s Road Home, focusing on policy development, regional collaboration and strategic partnerships.

Melanie has played pivotal roles in various community organizations, having served as the Past President of the Junior League of Denver, as well as Metro Denver Homeless Initiative, and Mile High Young Professionals. She’s a distinguished alumna of the 2015 Downtown Denver Leadership Program and the Leadership Denver Class of 2017. Melanie’s impact extends beyond local recognition, being honored as one of Colorado’s Top 25 Most Influential Young Professionals by ColoradoBiz Magazine in 2020 and as part of the Denver Business Journal’s esteemed “40 Under 40” class of 2022.
