*Certified Maintenance Technician

Full-Time year-round

The Housing Authority of the City and County of Denver (DHA) is looking for a skilled maintenance technician with a professional license to join our Maintenance Team.

The Position
Under minimal supervision, responsible for performing skilled tasks in a variety of trade areas for the purpose of keeping developments and rental units in a decent, safe, and sanitary condition. Performs tasks associated with all construction trades including carpentry, electrical, plumbing and licensed HVAC tasks associated with the repair, replacement and maintenance of furnaces, hot water heaters, sprinkler systems, major and various small appliances. Position is required to take a lead role in energy and water conservation and may require training on specific equipment. Performs preventive maintenance to building HVAC systems and grounds maintenance as needed. Responsible for all aspects of preparing the development and residential units for occupancy. Responds to emergency after hour call-outs. Work schedule may include various locations.

Work hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday. Over-time is offered for after-hours emergencies. Must join and maintain membership in AFSCME Local 535.

∗ Sick leave is accrued at 6 hours per month.

Minimum Qualifications at the Time of Application
∗ High School diploma or GED.
∗ Minimum (5) years of experience in the building maintenance field to include skilled experience in one or more of the following: carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, hot water.
∗ Must pass tests administered by DHA.
∗ Gas Service Journeyman Certificate or higher certification as provided through the City and County of Denver.
∗ A valid Colorado driver license and a good driving record that must be maintained in accordance with personnel policy.

Starting Salary Range
$69,127.21 to $86,409.01/annual ($33.23 to $41.54/hour)
