DENVER – Wednesday, August 30, 2023 – At the August meeting, the Denver Housing Authority’s (DHA) Board of Commissioners formally approved a significant Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Blueprint plan reflecting a commitment to promote an inclusive culture across the organization.
“DHA is committed to creating an environment that is diverse, inclusive, and equitable where all staff, participants, residents, vendors, and board members are treated with respect and dignity,” Grace Buckley, Board Chair said. “DHA embraces inclusivity and diversity in race, gender, ethnicity, nationality, religion, sexual identity, familial status, age, disability and socio-economic status.”
This DEI Blueprint was adopted during the Board of Commissioners meeting on August 24, 2023. The pledge taken by the Board includes valuing, respecting, and encouraging the full participation of each individual in the life and leadership of the organization, and enriching the work-life experience through the exchange of different ideas, beliefs, experiences, and perspectives.
As DHA continues to serve the residents of Denver by developing, owning, and operating safe, decent, and affordable housing in a manner that promotes thriving communities, it will help build communities whose members are judged by the quality of their character and contributions, bringing together individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
